We are seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist to lead our team as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role requires a minimum of 1+ years of Behavior Specialist experience and a valid BCBA credential.

Job Overview

As a Behavior Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive functional behavior assessments (FBA) to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors exhibited by students in grades K-8. You will develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIP) based on the findings from the FBA, employing evidence-based strategies and techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct FBAs and develop BIPs: You will conduct thorough assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors and develop tailored intervention plans to address these behaviors.
  • Train and support staff: You will provide training and support to staff members on the effective implementation of behavior intervention plans, ensuring consistent and appropriate interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate BIPs: You will systematically collect and analyze data on student behavior to evaluate the effectiveness of behavior intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with school personnel: You will work closely with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to ensure the student's unique needs are met and interventions are consistent across environments.
  • Participate in IEP meetings: You will actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, offering valuable input on the development of goals and objectives related to behavior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices: You will stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in behavior analysis and share this knowledge with school staff members to foster continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • BCBA credential: You must hold a valid BCBA credential and have a minimum of 1+ years of Behavior Specialist experience.
  • Experience working with students: While preferred, experience working with students with disabilities and challenging behaviors in a school setting is not required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills: You must exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills to effectively collaborate with school personnel, parents, and community agencies.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws: You must display a strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to special education and behavior management in schools.
