ROW Agent I – Fredericksburg District Office

Job Summary:

The Virginia Department of Transportation's Right of Way Division is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented ROW Agent I to join our team in the Fredericksburg District Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting research, preparing reports, and making presentations to support the acquisition of land and property for transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analysis to identify potential land acquisition opportunities and develop strategies for successful project delivery.
• Prepare and present reports, proposals, and other written materials to support land acquisition and management efforts.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and other ROW professionals, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, developers, and other interested parties.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations and solve problems to support land acquisition and management efforts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in land acquisition and management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services.
• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches to problems.

Working Conditions:

This position requires a fingerprint-based background check and a DMV record check. The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work weekends, holidays, and after normal business hours. The position may also be eligible for telework opportunities.
