POSITION: MACHINING QUALITY INSPECTOR
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough in-process inspections on metallic structural assemblies for launch vehicles, utilizing detailed schematics, CAD models, and established protocols to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Facilitate communication and resolution of quality-related challenges within the Falcon 9 division.
- Record production discrepancies in accordance with established procedures and protocols as necessary.
- Assist in the documentation of quality management system policies and procedures, evaluate compliance with corporate and industry standards, and spearhead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a structural assembly environment related to launch vehicles or aircraft.
- Experience with material review boards and root cause/corrective action methodologies.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience with SpaceX.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or CAD models.
- Strong familiarity with design data systems, manufacturing enterprise resource planning systems, electronic databases, and digital work instructions.
- Effective communication skills with engineering and production teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AS/ISO standards, particularly AS9100C.
- Proficient technical writing skills, capable of effective communication with management and various departments, along with fundamental problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously with a strong work ethic, innovative mindset, attention to detail, initiative, positivity, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with a demonstrated comfort in using personal computers and a willingness to learn specific software applications.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Associate's degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
- Military background.
- Airframe and Powerplant certification.
- Strong understanding of safety programs and occupational safety regulations.
- Practical experience with quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be capable of lifting at least 25 lbs. without assistance.
- Willingness to travel, up to 5% of the time.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including overtime and weekends as necessary.

- In compliance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
