Nuclear Safety and Security Specialist

At ANSER, we are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Safety and Security Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Matters (ODASD/NM), you will play a critical role in supporting the development of nuclear surety and exercise programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in reviewing and updating the nuclear weapon systems surety program to ensure alignment with evolving threat environments.
- Develop guidance and methodologies for threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments within the DoD and U.S. nuclear enterprise.
- Provide support and assistance to policy reviews and interpretations in response to Military Departments' requests for clarification of OSD policies and procedures.
- Assist in reviews of safety studies and assessments.
- Support and assist in evaluating, coordinating, and supporting USD(A&S) approval of Military Departments' Weapon System Safety Rules.
- Provide program support and analysis for nuclear weapons and materials, including special nuclear materials, transportation guidance, and execution of movements for DoD and Interagency and International partners.
- Develop materials, provide technical support, and assist in coordination for meetings and conferences as required.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in international affairs/relations, security studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated five years of relevant experience.
- Proven analytical work in a high-visibility and high-tempo office setting.
- Excellent writing skills and in-depth knowledge of editorial principles and techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience working in an Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD)/Joint Staff/Service Staff/Interagency environment.
- Knowledge of nuclear weapons systems and operations, nuclear weapons physical security and safety expertise, and/or international nuclear cooperation programs expertise.
