We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Support: Provide emotional support and guidance to patients, helping them navigate the treatment process and achieve their goals.
  • Milieu Management: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, monitoring their behavior and intervening as needed to prevent harm.
  • Group Facilitation: Lead and participate in therapeutic groups, teaching patients coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and other essential life skills.
  • Documentation: Accurately document patient behavior, progress, and any concerns, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to program policies.
  • Communication: Collaborate with the treatment team, including therapists, milieu managers, and program directors, to ensure seamless communication and patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • Experience: One year of experience working with mental health patients, preferably in a residential or inpatient setting.
  • Certifications: Current CPI and CPR/First Aid certifications, with the ability to obtain a driver's license in the state of Maryland.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
