We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Reactor Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide engineering support and independent oversight of work associated with installation, testing, and modification of reactor plant systems, components, and safety systems.
- Operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and independently exercise authority to ensure that work is conducted in a safe manner.
- Collaborate with Navy personnel, shipyard engineering, local government representatives, and partner organizations to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE qualified.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
