Position Overview

As an Echocardiography Specialist, you will be instrumental in producing detailed ultrasound images of the heart and vascular system, aiding in precise diagnostics and effective treatment strategies.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of echocardiographic procedures, including but not limited to stress echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Utilize advanced imaging modalities such as 2D imaging, color Doppler, Spectral Doppler, and M-mode techniques.
  • Independently assess and collaborate with medical professionals regarding complex or unforeseen results.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Deliver tailored services to meet the needs of a diverse patient demographic.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent, or completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound training program.
  • Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RCS) from ARMDS or as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer from CCI, along with current AHA BLS Certification.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a specialized echocardiography laboratory.
  • RVT certification through ARDMS or RVS certification through CCI, or eligibility to take the registry examination.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in or willing to gain expertise in vascular imaging.
  • Ability to manage patients, equipment, and resources with physical agility.
  • Capable of functioning independently in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Experienced in utilizing Health Information Systems (HIS) and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of clinical emergency equipment, including oxygen tanks and suction devices.
