Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the upkeep of facilities while delivering exceptional customer service focused on satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with various departments to prioritize and manage both scheduled and unscheduled tasks effectively.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks to management that could affect departmental and site objectives.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work requests, manage inventory of materials, and complete work orders efficiently.
  • Conduct predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on process equipment and systems, adhering to established protocols.
  • Diagnose and repair complex utility systems, including HVAC, electronic controls, and other essential utilities with minimal oversight.
  • Employ Building Automation Systems (BAS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor and resolve operational issues.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various facility systems, engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinate with equipment owners and engineers to oversee vendor performance during maintenance activities.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide maintenance and repair efforts.
  • Participate in the installation of new equipment and systems, providing technical support to engineering and validation teams.
  • Assist in vendor qualification for calibration services and review calibration documentation.
  • Oversee contractor work, ensuring compliance with the Scope of Work and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate cGMP records in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Contribute to the creation of documentation for the operation and maintenance of utility systems, including technical data for spare parts procurement.
  • Perform calibrations on various instruments within a regulated environment.
  • Execute maintenance on equipment such as mixers, chromatography systems, and sanitary pumps in cleanroom settings.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for facilities as necessary.
  • Support daily operations and respond to facility-related issues, providing on-call assistance as needed.
  • Address alarms and document actions in compliance with cGMP standards, collaborating with equipment owners on remediation strategies.
  • Implement hazardous energy control measures and manage confined space entry protocols.
  • Lead projects of increasing complexity and scope within the facilities domain.
  • Understand asset management principles and generate reports on asset performance.
  • Perform additional maintenance and engineering tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or relevant trade school certification preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a regulated or cleanroom environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience with HVAC systems.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations related to safety procedures.
  • Military training equivalent to the above qualifications is acceptable.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in a maintenance role within a cGMP Biotech/Pharmaceutical setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Metrology practices is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of PLC controls for troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Experience in auditing and managing BAS/BMS systems is a plus.
  • Licensure in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or Electrical fields is beneficial.
  • Proficient in HVAC, maintenance, and engineering skills necessary for job performance.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to investigate and resolve complex issues.
  • Demonstrated capacity to learn new systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in navigating computerized data management systems.
  • Ability to present work effectively to peers and management.
  • Technical writing proficiency is required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Capability to access manufacturing areas as required for job duties.
