Pharmacy Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Process new prescriptions and refill requests, ensuring accurate and efficient entry of patient information into our pharmacy system.
- Verify prescription information, including drug names, strengths, and dosage instructions, to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Assist pharmacists with clerical tasks, such as preparing prescription labels and packaging medications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and security protocols.
- Collaborate with other pharmacy team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
- Perform other duties as required, including inventory management and cash handling.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to read, understand, and transcribe pharmaceutical information, including prescription labels and medication instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical demands of the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software and systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
