We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Pharmacist to join our team, supporting the Murtha Medical Oncology network Pharmacy. This role is based in Johnstown, PA, and offers a regular full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, with no weekend or holiday shifts required.


The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering cost-effective pharmacotherapy aimed at achieving optimal patient outcomes. This position also involves providing experiential education to current and future healthcare professionals and contributing to drug-related research initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:


- Review and manage patient medication records, ensuring accuracy regarding allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications while processing orders and verifying medications.

- Identify and promptly report any suspected adverse drug reactions.

- Interpret physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense the correct medication dosages for both inpatient and outpatient care, adhering to state and federal pharmacy regulations.

- Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions using aseptic techniques in a sterile environment.

- Organize daily pharmacy operations and assist in supervising pharmacy technicians, aides, interns, and other support staff involved in pharmaceutical care.

- Fill prescription orders in compliance with all relevant regulations, utilizing advanced technological resources.

- Provide drug information and educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.

- Communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff to clarify any unclear or incomplete orders.

- Maintain the formulary by minimizing non-formulary procurements and promoting rational drug therapy.

- Adhere to all regulatory standards, professional practices, and hospital quality management policies in delivering pharmaceutical care.


Qualifications:


- B.S. degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D.) from an accredited institution is required.

- Preferred experience includes 3-6 months in a hospital pharmacy setting.

- Oncology experience is highly desirable.

- Familiarity with investigational drug control procedures and protocol design is preferred.


Licensure and Certifications:


- Valid Pharmacist license.

- Act 34 clearance.
