We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Sonographer to join our team at Williamson Health. As an Echocardiographer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality echo procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
About the RoleThis part-time position requires proficiency in TEE studies, stress echo studies, and collaboration with cardiologists. Responsibilities- You will be responsible for checking patient identification and physician orders to ensure accuracy before proceeding with studies.
- Recognize abnormal studies and report them appropriately, understanding the proper use of Definity.
- Seek opportunities to assist in other areas during downtime periods and make good use of your time.
- Correctly record preliminary calculations and post measurements and findings.
- Assist cardiologists during TEE's and Cardioversions.
- Show leadership and teamwork in difficult situations and make appropriate decisions.
- Volunteer for overtime and fill-in when needed.
- Perform high-quality studies consistently and follow pre-determined standards (protocols) and procedures for all echocardiography studies.
- Communicate and follow through with fellow employees to ensure that all requests from physicians and patients are completed.
- Provide portable studies for patients when it is in their best interest as deemed necessary by the patient's nurse or nursing supervisor.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and disease processes to accurately communicate patient pathology to cardiologists.
- Respond in a timely manner when on call.

Our multimodality imaging department provides Echocardiograms, and you will work with cardiologists during TEE's and Cardioversions. This role requires physical effort, including lifting 20 pounds, communicating clearly, making judgment decisions, and demonstrating emotional stability and psychological health. You must be willing to take call for STAT, Urgent, and Routine studies after hours and on weekends.
Requirements- Earned a degree/certificate from an accredited Echocardiography program.
- Registered or registry eligible in Echocardiography.
- Proficient in performing TEE studies, stress echo studies, and using contrast.
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- At least two years of work experience after graduation preferred.
The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
