The City of Tuscaloosa, AL seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter to join our team. As a Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, performing fire suppression duties, and providing medical assistance when needed. Responsibilities:

- Respond to emergency calls and perform fire suppression duties
- Provide medical assistance and first aid when needed
- Participate in training exercises and drills to maintain skills and stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies
- Collaborate with other firefighters and emergency responders to ensure effective communication and coordination during emergency situations
- Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working condition

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to obtain and maintain Alabama Firefighter I and II certification within the first year of employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) certification within one year of receipt of Firefighter I certification or within one year of employment with the City of Tuscaloosa as a Firefighter
- Must be able to pass a physical agility test and possess a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) certification

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $57,324.51 - $81,503.82 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
