Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Molecular Technologist III to join our team at Sonic Reference Laboratory, Inc. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for performing complex clinical sample testing, analyzing and reviewing test results, and maintaining proficiency on a wide range of molecular methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily laboratory testing and analyze, review, and report test results
  • Maintain proficiency on a wide variety of molecular methods and technologies
  • Assist in training of personnel and competency assessments
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, including quality control, quality assurance, and safety
  • General laboratory operations, including keeping a neat work area, attending meetings, and complying with laboratory procedures and safety practices
  • Analyze, review, and report test and quality control results, and take remedial action when indicated
  • Enter and verify data within the clinical LIMS system
  • Perform, enter, and maintain Quality Control assessments and data
  • General laboratory housekeeping, including the regular cleaning of sinks, counters, and equipment as appropriate
  • Create and validate in-house control material and reagents
  • Monitor laboratory data systems, conduct statistical metric analysis
  • Perform and document reagent Quality Control verification
  • File documentation associated with daily production runs
  • Document laboratory inventory for assigned work areas
  • Train staff and assist in technical competency assessments
  • Make recommendations for process improvement to management
  • Complete proficiency testing online entries as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science
  • Certified as Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Molecular Biology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) OR equivalent certification
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to collect and analyze data using graphs, tables, charts, and mathematical calculations
  • Experienced with computer software including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook
  • Operational knowledge of complex lab automation and networked lab systems
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with regulated clinical laboratory policies, goals, and objectives
Work Environment

This is an indoor temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to biological and chemical hazards. All safety equipment and personal protective equipment are provided.

This is a 2nd shift position.
