Job Summary:

Kaiser Permanente seeks a highly skilled Medical Social Services Manager to lead our social services programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and monitoring social services programs, establishing and maintaining standards, quality levels, cost-effective services, and customer-focused services. You will also establish interfaces with community services and oversee social services case management activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development and Management: Plan, develop, implement, and maintain social services policies and procedures, delivery of social work programs, and discharge planning services.
  • Case Management: Oversee social services case management activities, ensuring that services are provided in an integrated fashion.
  • Staff Management: Manage staff activities, ensure their competencies, and develop/present in-services.
  • Program Evaluation and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance of the social services programs and staff, identifying issues that interfere with the delivery of services and developing techniques to resolve them.
  • Community Collaboration: Collaborate with community organizations in developing new programs or enhancing current community services available to Kaiser members.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage departmental budget, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum two (2) years of leadership or supervisory experience in medical social work.
  • Education: Masters degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California) required at hire, Driver's License (California), Basic Life Support, and National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience in medical social work.
