Position Overview

Role Summary: We are seeking an Associate Pharmacy Officer who will collaborate closely with the Editor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics and the Chief Pharmacy Officer. This position is vital for the development and upkeep of veterinary drug interaction data within Plumb's, a premier resource for veterinary medication information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Plumb's Interaction Checker (IC), ensuring the accuracy and timely updates of drug interaction content.
  • Manage the documentation of editorial and production workflows, maintaining a production grid to facilitate timely updates.
  • Engage with external specialists to clarify complex drug interaction classifications.
  • Conduct content reviews in collaboration with the Assistant Veterinary Officer of Pharmacy.
  • Communicate updates and developments regarding IC functionalities to team members and leadership.
  • Partner with the Chief Pharmacy Officer to draft and evaluate veterinary drug monographs, with the goal of achieving expertise for approving lower-tier monograph revisions.
  • Implement a stringent quality control process for all clinical content in Plumb's, ensuring it is current and evidence-based by integrating new research findings.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
    • PharmD or equivalent qualification.
    • DICVP certification.
    • Active pharmacy practice license in the US.
    • Current veterinary pharmacy board certification.
    • Minimum of 5 years of veterinary pharmacy experience or completion of a veterinary pharmacy residency followed by relevant work experience.
    • Ability to make informed decisions regarding drug interaction content in ambiguous or conflicting situations.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and project management capabilities.
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • Proficient writing and editing abilities.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in publishing drug-related content.
    • Familiarity with digital content creation tools.
    • Commitment to staying informed about advancements in veterinary medicine.
    • Educational background in medical literature evaluation.
