Job Summary

The City of Rochester seeks a highly skilled and experienced Water Division Director to lead the daily and long-term operation and goals of the water utility. This executive-level supervisory role contributes to the strategic leadership and management of the division, including forecasting service requirements and developing and administering the divisional budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct assigned resources of the water utility section within the division.
  • Oversee the daily engineering, operation, construction, maintenance, and improvement of all water transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  • Serve on the RPU Executive Team and be accountable for operating results that are consistent with established policies and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations intended to protect human life, the natural environment, and the utilities' investment in plant property.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible full-time employment experience in water system planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance, with at least three (3) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • A valid driver's license is also required.

The City of Rochester offers an exceptional benefits package and a competitive salary range of $131,110 to $154,240, depending on qualifications, with advancement to $187,299.
