Composites Manufacturing Specialist

The Gund Company is seeking a skilled Composites Manufacturing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for implementing the Production Fulfillment Process steps related to the manufacture of thermoset composite materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manufacturing equipment, including presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion, and shape machines, to produce high-quality composite materials.
• Set up and maintain equipment, including dies, spacers, shims, and stops, to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor and control the production process to ensure quality, quantity, and efficiency standards are met.
• Perform manual work and use various hand tools and secondary/accessory equipment as needed.

Requirements:

• Production and Processing-Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Mechanical-Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Computers & Electronics-Knowledge of machine controls, electronic equipment, hardware, software, and applications.
• Ability to work independently with minimal defects and adapt to changing production schedules.
• Basic to Intermediate math skills and ability to understand technical drawings and troubleshoot.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lb. drums, mixing bags, and/or other related material. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.

• Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
• May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
