Packing and Preservation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Packing and Preservation Specialist to join our team at the Air Force Materiel Command. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for packing and preserving items and equipment for storage and shipment via various modes of transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Packing and preserving items and equipment for storage and shipment
  • Assessing warehouse procedures and space utilization techniques
  • Certifying hazardous cargo in accordance with federal regulations
  • Operating various types of equipment, such as packaging and preservation equipment, heat sealers, and stapling machines

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Working Conditions:

Work is typically done inside in well-lit, heated, and ventilated areas, but the incumbent may occasionally work outside. Work is sometimes dusty, dirty, greasy, and poorly lit. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, or other injuries when using hand tools and powered tools.

Education and Experience:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-7000 Packing and Processing Family. Qualification requirements emphasize the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
