Overview:

The individual in this role plays a crucial part in executing a range of intricate specialized tasks utilizing fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography apparatus during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional interventions.

This position is pivotal in developing and implementing processes to ensure a seamless and efficient patient flow for procedures conducted in the Interventional laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits proficiency in the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Facilitates and provides diagnostic imaging for invasive interventions, including arteriography, catheter insertions, stenting, dialysis access, thrombolytic procedures, and angioplasty.
  • Operates and manages the Special Procedures equipment and its components, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout.
  • Ensures the highest quality and precision of imaging results.
  • Assists the Radiologist/Interventional Radiologist by serving as a scrub assistant during complex interventional procedures.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling for procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies, equipment, and prior imaging are prepared for the Interventional Radiologist.
  • Collaborates with physicians and nursing staff to guarantee accurate documentation of charges and codes for each procedure.
  • Operates various fixed and portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment throughout the healthcare facility, including surgical and intensive care units.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform assigned patient care tasks that cater to the age-specific and developmental needs of patients.
  • Registered vascular interventional technologist is expected to be available for on-call duties.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent accepted qualification required. A minimum of 12 months of training/experience in special procedures is preferred. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology is required. A Post-Primary Pathway certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography must be obtained within two years. State licensure is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
