Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic procedures in MRI and Radiology with a thorough understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology to produce optimal results. Conducts independent diagnostic imaging procedures with minimal supervision, adhering to established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service: Provides exceptional service to patients, staff, physicians, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience through effective communication and cooperation.
  2. Performs MRI procedures independently, adhering to departmental standards and protocols.
  3. Monitors and maintains protocols and staff compliance with departmental standards.
  4. Verifies patient identification, clinical history, procedure request, and informed consent, documenting information in the patient's medical record.
  5. Ensures MRI safety protocols are followed for patient safety.
  6. Determines procedural requirements, including patient and equipment preparation.
  7. Administers intravenous contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  8. Evaluates images for technical quality, anatomy, and documentation.
  9. Identifies emergency situations and determines the course of action.
  10. Provides patient education on procedure details, contrast administration, and related information.
  11. Operates MRI equipment, including accessory devices and radiation shields.
  12. Evaluates patient medical status prior to procedures, including allergies, laboratory results, and pregnancy determination.
  13. Maintains general safety precautions and participates in in-service training programs.
  14. Records patient information, examination details, and pertinent data in appropriate locations.
  15. Manages time effectively, completing work assignments and maintaining quality standards.
  16. Provides assistance to colleagues as needed and cooperates with management to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  17. Adjusts work schedule to accommodate changing priorities and operates equipment safely.
  18. Follows established emergency, infection control, and universal precautions procedures.
  19. Maintains a clean and organized work area and equipment.
  20. Attends mandatory in-service training related to safety and infection control.
  21. Supports quality improvement activities and provides courteous service to internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Evidence of attendance in an MRI course approved by the ARRT.
  • A.R.R.T. registration or registry eligibility.
  • Current CPR license required.
