Rotating Equipment Sales Specialist

Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Representative is a key member of our sales team, responsible for generating sales and managing all aspects of sales and customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of rotating equipment and the ability to develop and nurture relationships with account decision makers to influence purchasing decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate sales and manage all aspects of sales and customer service
- Develop and nurture relationships with account decision makers
- Work closely with consulting engineers in the industrial and wastewater treatment market to specify represented products and services
- Maintain and build relationships with general contractors in selling represented products on municipal and industrial projects
- Establishes rapport and maintains key relationships with manufacturers and keeps updated on new equipment changes and offerings
- Engages in joint sales calls with manufacturers JCI represents in the marketplace
- Implement market coverage strategies, and leverage key contacts with Engineering, Contractors, and Municipalities
- Identify, track, and bid projects in assigned territory
- Monitors and works long life-cycle projects for water and wastewater processing equipment
- Attend local, regional and national trade conferences and sales seminars
Requirements:
- Influential customer service skills and accomplished at building relationships
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding and/or good working knowledge of electro-mechanical rotating equipment, fabrication/manufacturing of equipment and machine shop practices preferred
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment general processes a plus
- Engineering or technical degree or 5+ years customer facing rotating equipment, field service/maintenance experience
- ~3+ years of successful industrial/municipal sales experience
- ~ Proficient in using Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, and CRM software (Selltis a plus)
- ~ Walk, must be able to move about inside the office, shop and customer/project sites
- Ability to operate and read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources
- Able to hear sounds and designate differences between them, and talk via phone and electronic devices in the workplace
- Capable of performing work in office and industrial settings at current/potential customer sites
- Must be able to drive a car and travel via plane as needed
