Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information.
- Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collect and process insurance information, physician orders, and other relevant documentation to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable, maintaining a high level of professionalism and courtesy.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct quality audits and reporting to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient accounts, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, collecting demographic, insurance, and other relevant information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians, obtaining necessary signatures and witnessing names.
- Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems, selecting applicable insurance plan codes and entering benefit data to support Point of Service (POS) collections and billing processes.
- Distribute and document designated forms and pamphlets, ensuring patients receive necessary information and instructions.
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required within 6 months of hire
