Position Overview

Special Education Liaison

  • Compliance with all health, physical, and background verification standards is essential.
  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Teaching Certificate in at least one area of Special Education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in teaching or related fields within Special Education, focusing on students aged 3 to 22 with varying degrees of cognitive, physical, medical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, including students, educational leaders, fellow educators, community professionals, support personnel, and parents.
  • Demonstrated capability to fulfill responsibilities with minimal direct oversight.
  • Ability to perform efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding and proven expertise in the application of federal and state regulations regarding referral, identification, placement processes, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) development.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in utilizing a variety of curricula, teaching methodologies, and instructional resources tailored for students with disabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills necessary for maintaining records and completing required documentation related to the role.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
  • Ability to engage and interact positively with students.
  • Two positions are available.
