Job Summary

This is a zero-hour position (PRN) at Washington University in St. Louis, requiring flexibility to work on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will provide assessments and therapy plans to patients and families/caregivers, including education on therapy, diagnosis, activities, and more.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients based on medical diagnosis and determine a movement system diagnosis.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnosis, findings, co-morbidities, patient goals, and prognosis.
  • Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
  • Provide assessments, education, and plan of care to patients and families/caregivers, including home programs and community referrals.
  • Maintain regular contact with patients and referring providers regarding patient progress or problems.
  • Attend departmental meetings, conferences, and continuing education courses to stay updated on best practices.
Requirements
  • Masters of Physical Therapy degree or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
  • Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on work location, as a Physical Therapist.
  • CPR certification.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to lift ten pounds from floor to waist, carry ten pounds for short distances, and push and pull occasionally with moderate force. They will also be able to coordinate hand movements to write, type, manipulate folders, and client body parts.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience treating individuals with vestibular conditions.
  • Two or more years of experience.
  • Ability to apply principles of scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
