Position Summary
The role involves facilitating efficient warehouse operations. You will be tasked with specialized duties related to receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assess products for quality, categorize by grade and size.
- Package products appropriately.
- Exemplify and promote the Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Engage in departmental meetings addressing safety, quality, and productivity matters.
- Coordinate with transport personnel to ensure timely receipt of incoming shipments.
- Review receiving documents for accuracy.
- Maintain warehouse layout in accordance with approved configurations for product, packaging, and equipment storage.
- Load pallets correctly, ensuring stability and security of loads.
- Achieve cost-effective standards across all warehouse functions.
- Implement good housekeeping practices, including immediate cleanup of spills and reporting hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and respect safety signage.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other necessary powered equipment safely.
- Ensure products are inspected for quality, properly tagged, and rotated.
- Utilize pick tickets effectively for picking, packing, and loading orders.
- Verify that all return labels are approved before restocking products.
- Understand and execute assigned HACCP plans.
- Confirm complete receipt of products, ensure proper rotation, and stage products in correct quantities.
- Report required repairs promptly and ensure preventive maintenance on equipment is conducted.
- Carry out emergency replenishment for products that fall below minimum levels to meet customer order demands.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Minimum of one year experience in seafood distribution or production is required.
- Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred.
- Forklift certification is essential.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and recognize basic words and numbers.
- Ability to communicate in simple sentences.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions.
- Capability to address problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.
Compensation: $21.08 per hour
