General Duties:
- Participate in all mandatory restaurant meetings and training sessions.
- Engage in monthly bar cleaning sessions.
- Maintain consistent attendance in line with Groot Hospitality standards.
- Availability for full-time work with flexibility for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Uphold high standards of personal grooming and attire, including adherence to uniform guidelines.
- Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations as mandated by health authorities.
- Complete assigned tasks within designated timeframes.
- Possess extensive knowledge of classic cocktails and spirits.
- Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and maintain eye contact.
- Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly to guests aged 21 and over.
- Inform guests about beverage and menu features, including daily specials.
- Adhere to signature and classic cocktail recipes as outlined by the establishment.
- Utilize jiggering techniques and conduct daily free pour tests to ensure quality and consistency.
- Monitor guest satisfaction after each drink is served.
- Assist and oversee barbacks in maintaining adequate supplies of glassware, utensils, garnishes, and disposables.
- Prepare and serve all beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure checks are presented promptly with a courteous acknowledgment.
- Manage alcohol service to prevent over-intoxication of guests.
- Handle cash responsibly, ensuring accurate cash drops at the end of shifts.
- Collaborate with management to conduct regular inventory checks and manage beverage orders.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages as per local regulations.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume, upscale environment.
- Experience with craft cocktails is advantageous.
- Bar Smarts Certification is a plus.
- Alcohol Awareness Certification (e.g., Serv Safe, TIPs, etc.) is required.
- Food handling certification is preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Patient and customer-focused approach.
- Friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
