Claims Supervisor

Crawford & Company is seeking a highly skilled Claims Supervisor to join our team. As a Claims Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the investigation, management, and timely disposition of Workers Compensation claims within account, carrier and/or company guidelines.

• Establish and communicate performance standards and objectives, and conduct performance appraisals.
• Administer corrective action with regards to any performance deficiencies in line with human resource policies and procedures.
• Recommend and approve salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
• Administer all company human resource policies and procedures, communicate to staff, and ensure compliance both for staff and self.
• Counsel team members on educational and job opportunities which will enhance their career development.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Five or more years of progressive experience as a Claim Examiner, or the equivalent, demonstrating the technical expertise to handle the most complex cases with a high degree of judgment and discretion.
• Previous supervisory experience desirable.
• Industry designations preferred but not required (IIA, AIC, AEI, and/or CPCU).
• Where applicable, has passed state licensing requirements for lines of insurance handled.
