KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate and source various vehicle components and systems for new vehicle development projects, ensuring compliance with selection criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to assess the impact of rapid component design modifications on sourcing and delivery.
  • Adhere strictly to ITC (International Trade Compliance), ITAR, FAR/DFARS regulations, ensuring all Price Analysis Packages are completed in advance.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate NDAs, Bailment agreements, TAA's, Development Agreements, Terms & Conditions, and Intellectual Property rights.
  • Facilitate the onboarding of new suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Maintain a preferred/new supplier list or scorecard specific to commodities.
  • Conduct reviews of Sourcing Strategy Plans for critical items.
  • Ensure that Purchase Order (PO) documentation is approved and that fair and reasonable pricing is established.
  • Issue SAP Purchase Orders and confirm that approved documentation is uploaded.
  • Act as a core member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), balancing multiple IPTs to meet schedule and budget goals for each program.
  • Identify and address supplier-related issues, risks, and performance challenges.
  • Manage ongoing supply chain communication to keep teams, suppliers, and the supply chain management group informed.
  • Participate in and lead various meetings, including IPT, Program Management, Supply Chain Management staff, and supplier discussions.
  • Monitor and achieve key performance metrics, including Open Requisitions, RFQs issued/closed, sourcing timelines, and cost performance.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in tracking and resolving outstanding commitments and invoice discrepancies.
  • For complex service and development Purchase Orders, verify invoices against supplier quotes/SOW to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with existing and new suppliers on the introduction of new technologies and development initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred (CPSM/CPM and/or MBA is a plus).
  • Experience in Powertrain and Chassis Supply Chain is essential.
  • A minimum of 7 years of overall Supply Chain experience, with at least 5 years in a purchasing or buyer role.
  • Self-driven and proactive in approach.
  • Proven negotiation experience in the automotive or defense sectors.
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in creating PowerPoint presentations for detailed sourcing analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a high level of internal and external engagement.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and understand the fundamentals of component manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; SAP S4 experience is preferred.

  • Hand-eye coordination for manipulating objects and performing job-related tasks.
