Job Title: Registered Nurse III

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse III at Texas A&M International University provides patient care, evaluations, and treatment under general supervision. This role is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the clinic, including inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides direct patient care, patient evaluations, and treatment in accordance with Professional Nursing Standards.
  • Develops and implements preventative education programs for students, including residence life programs and student organization programs.
  • Uses the healthcare team approach to provide triage of patients, physical assessments, and treatments, including the administration of medication and therapy as directed.
  • Operates and maintains the clinic, including maintaining inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.
  • Maintains and operates the autoclave for sterilization of instruments/supplies.
  • Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses healthcare needs, and provides patient education.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Experience: Four years of previous experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience in community health or public health.
  • Experience with emergency preparedness, including mass vaccination.
Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Standard nursing procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Licensing and Certification:
  • Licensed RN and CPR certified.
Physical Requirements:
  • General medical office environment.
Supervision of Others:
  • This position generally does not supervise employees.
Other Requirements:
  • Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.
  • Position requires on-campus, face-to-face interactions.
  • Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
