Job Summary

As a key member of our team at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to obstetrical and infant patients. Your expertise will be sought after by patients, families, staff, and the community, making you a valuable resource and educator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the physical, educational, and discharge needs of obstetrical, newborn, or breastfeeding patients.
  • Identify opportunities to improve care for mothers, infants, and children in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Develop and revise evidence-based nursing policies, procedures, standards of care, protocols, and preprinted orders.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care for mothers and infants through consultation and education.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify cost-effective alternatives and facilitate discharges.
  • Serve as a resource, educator, and consultant for patients, families, staff, and the community.
  • Evaluate and recommend new products, tools, and best practices using evidence-based materials and research.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • 2 years of experience in L&D, Mom/Baby, lactation, or related nursing
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina
  • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) preferred; IBCLC required or expected to obtain within 1 year
