Role Responsibilities

As a Lead Teacher, you will support the General Manager and the Education Department by offering your expertise in programming, assisting with onboarding, and providing ongoing coaching to the teaching staff in your region. Your onboarding responsibilities will include reviewing submitted sequences, auditioning new teachers, providing constructive feedback, and leading training sessions.

This is a part-time role, compensated based on hours worked or tasks completed, with an estimated commitment of 6-10 hours per week, in addition to teaching time.

Key Duties:
  • Maintain a consistent teaching presence at a designated location
  • Be certified to teach all 6 core class types
  • Conduct a minimum of 5-8 yoga classes weekly, covering at least 4 different formats
  • Oversee the recruitment, auditioning, hiring, and development of new instructors
  • Possess a strong understanding of YogaSix core formats and their unique characteristics
  • Review sequences for non-set formats and provide feedback to teachers and management
  • Audit existing teachers' classes for ongoing support
  • Coach instructors in a supportive manner, highlighting areas for growth
  • Submit evaluations for each teacher to the studio manager
  • Lead in-house training sessions for various formats
Qualifications:
  • Currently certified and teaching at YogaSix
  • Minimum of 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (500-hour preferred)
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience (E-RYT status preferred)
  • Preferred experience in yoga management
  • Interest in advancing teaching skills and knowledge of diverse styles
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience in coaching and staff development
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with online management systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with ClubReady or Mind Body Online preferred
