Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Metropolitan Detention Center. As a nurse on our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining accurate medical records.

About the Facility: Our facility provides medical and mental health services to individuals incarcerated within the correctional system. We are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and promoting a safe and respectful environment for all staff and patients.

Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing routine and emergency healthcare to patients.
  • Conducting health assessments and making necessary referrals to healthcare providers.
  • Triaging and assessing new patients admitted to the facility.
  • Conducting detox rounds per protocol.
  • Implementing isolation precautions when needed.

Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must have at least 1 year of experience working as a Correctional RN, a valid New Mexico license (pending is acceptable), and certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). Additionally, you must be able to pass a facility background check, have a COVID vaccination, and possess phlebotomy skills and IV starting experience.

Work Environment: This is a night shift position requiring flexibility to work every other weekend. You will be required to maintain compliance with strict documentation and deadlines, including pre-employment drug screening. Please note that personal transportation is required due to the facility location.
