Position Overview:
The Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) role involves providing outstanding nursing care to young patients by:
- Exercising effective organizational and leadership abilities to evaluate patient conditions.
- Identifying the urgency of patient issues and requirements.
- Executing clinical nursing interventions for patients in acute and critical conditions needing intensive medical attention.
- Creating and implementing patient care strategies aimed at improving health outcomes.
- Maintaining a secure and supportive environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients, demonstrating a solid understanding of modern nursing practices.
- Delivering both outpatient and inpatient pediatric nursing care as necessary.
- Applying knowledge of current Pediatric nursing practices and anticipating future advancements.
- Utilizing nursing skills to care for pediatric patients requiring thorough assessments and team-based interventions.
- Reviewing, updating, and modifying care plans to ensure the achievement of desired health outcomes.
- Administering medications safely in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred but not mandatory).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must be obtained from an approved source prior to patient care).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months of hire.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Preferred experience in Medical/Surgical, NICU, Pediatric, OB, ED, or critical care settings.
Training:
- EPIC Electronic Health Record training (preferred but not required).
