Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our MedStar Health Urgent Care team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in the MedStar Health settings, consistent with policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient intake, standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up.
  • Administer oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications when ordered by a provider, after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee.
  • Document patient information in the medical record and support optimal patient flow.
  • Clean, stock, and sterilize equipment, and prepare patient rooms for care delivery.
  • Deliver patient care consistent with policy and with high regard for patient/employee safety and quality of care.
  • Embrace new technology and use of the electronic health record.
  • Manage patient flow with consistent and frequent communication with patients/family and genuine regard for their time and comfort.
  • Perform other testing and care consistent with the scope of the MedStar Health practices, including spirometry/PFTs, patient vitals and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, splinting, and general patient care under the supervision of the medical provider.
  • Perform patient follow-up calls for lab tests, patient experience, and clinical results in accordance with policy and in a professional manner.
  • Support new clinical and service initiatives, and seek opportunities to improve care and the patient experience.
Requirements
  • Associate degree.
  • Completion of an approved R.T. program.
  • Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
  • 2 years of medical office experience preferred.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Certification.
  • Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
