Position Overview
Incentive for Commitment: A $5,000 incentive will be distributed over a three (3) year commitment period, with payments made in six (6) installments following the completion of each six (6) month work period.

Role Summary:
Responsible for monitoring patients on telemetry, ensuring proper application of telemetry equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and address emergency situations. Reports any issues or discrepancies to the charge nurse, providing written follow-up to the nurse manager.
2. Educates both staff and patients on cardiology technical procedures and equipment. Provides instruction on telemetry principles to patients and their families as necessary. Trains new telemetry technicians as required.
3. Ensures all equipment is sanitized and functioning correctly. Troubleshoots basic equipment issues and escalates unresolved problems for further assistance.
4. Operates cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic devices. Interprets and records cardiac rhythms, responding promptly and appropriately to alarms. Adheres to established arrhythmia protocols, ensuring proper telemetry application for patients.
5. Prepares relevant reports, inputs test results into databases, and documents procedures as necessary.
Additional Information:
Educational Requirements:
* Successful completion of an accredited EKG course (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
* High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* No prior experience required if EKG course is completed.
* If holding a High School diploma or GED: Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare setting.
