The Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in accordance with established departmental and hospital protocols, ensuring the utmost safety for patients. This role involves completing essential tasks to maintain efficient and consistent operations within the department. The technologist will uphold radiation safety standards for patients, colleagues, and themselves, adhering to departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the technologist will ensure that all equipment, examination rooms, and workspaces are kept in a clean and safe condition to promote a secure environment for both patients and staff. This position also provides clinical services in line with radiology practice standards and serves as a resource for radiography students and fellow technologists, contributing to the overall functionality of the department.

Key Responsibilities
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of intravenous lines, heparin locks, and central line applications related to computed tomography, as demonstrated through supervisor and peer evaluations.
- Completes necessary ancillary tasks to support smooth departmental operations.
- Accurately identifies patients and their records, ensuring a high level of precision, as evidenced by the absence of mislabeled films, images, and electronic medical records.
- Monitors patient tracking in accordance with departmental protocols, promptly identifying and rectifying errors as indicated by electronic medical records and radiology information systems.
- Engages in departmental and hospital performance improvement initiatives, attending in-services and meetings as documented in attendance records.
- Graduate from an accredited radiography program.
- ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist is required. State licensure is necessary for non-hospital licensed centers, but not mandatory for positions at Inova Hospitals.
- CT Certification must be obtained within one year of accepting the position.
- Preferred prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and/or Computed Tomography Technologist in a healthcare setting. Current experience in a hospital environment as a CT Technologist or Radiologic Technologist is desirable.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
