POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking experienced Senior Air Tanker Pilots to join our RJ85 team. The Senior Air Tanker Pilot is responsible for executing initial attack missions as a carded air tanker pilot, focusing on wildfire suppression efforts. This role entails ensuring the aircraft's operation and the safety of all personnel on board during flight operations. The Senior Air Tanker Pilot holds ultimate authority over the aircraft's management while in command.

All candidates must have or be willing to obtain the Covid-19 vaccine.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Airline Transport Pilot License
  • Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
  • Valid Class 2 (or 1) Medical Certificate
  • Minimum of 4000 Hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
  • At least 2000 hours PIC in Multi-engine aircraft
  • 500 hours in forest fire operational environments
  • 100 hours in the last 12 months
  • 100 hours of night flying
  • 500 hours PIC in multi-engine aircraft over 12,500 lbs
  • 500 hours PIC under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)
  • 200 hours of previous experience in a multi-crew aircraft
  • 200 hours in mountainous terrain

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Initial Attack Carded Air Tanker Pilot
  • Professional Aviation Training, including specialized aircraft courses, simulator, and Crew Resource Management (CRM) training (preferred)
  • Post-Secondary Education, either a 2 or 4-year degree program
  • Human Factors/Safety Management - Formal risk-based education (preferred)
  • Two years of experience as a Federal or State carded air tanker pilot in wildfire suppression missions (preferred)

  • Airmanship: Utilize knowledge, experience, and skills to effectively command the aircraft.

  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using IT tools to enhance training and situational awareness.
  • Technical Comprehension and Writing: Ability to interpret manuals and manage discrepancy logs.
