POSITION SUMMARY

The Strategic IT Architect will play a crucial role in ensuring that clinical applications are in strategic alignment with Ardent's business objectives and enterprise IT standards. This position will oversee the comprehensive design, architecture, implementation, training, documentation, and operational support of clinical applications. Responsibilities include the integration of clinical applications with other enterprise systems, the clinical data warehouse, and various tools, technologies, and services.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver advanced support for servers, storage systems, and infrastructure services, occasionally leading and directing the efforts of others to achieve team objectives.
  • Engage in the planning and execution of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance align with organizational goals, industry best practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage client relationships, complex projects, and drive the gathering of business requirements while managing scope and client expectations.
  • Design long-term, reliable, and comprehensive technical architectures, contributing to functional architecture design and product vision.
  • Evaluate and recommend software solutions to meet business needs through a buy versus build analysis and thorough market research.
  • Transform detailed requirements into a complete, comprehensive systems design document.
  • Act as a technical liaison among business stakeholders, project teams, and developers/testers.
  • Assist in the implementation of new technologies, ensuring all procedural documentation is accurate and that knowledge transfer from design to engineering is completed prior to production deployment.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level strategic projects, meeting milestone deadlines and fulfilling project action items.
  • Administer data within corporate change, problem management, and request systems; monitor the assignment and completion of documented efforts and escalate issues to management as necessary.
  • Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and develop proactive solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintain operations of enterprise shared services and provide assistance to application teams as required.
  • Facilitate training, coaching, and mentoring of junior team members to foster their professional development.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Required: Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
  • Required: MCSE, VCP, or AZ900/MS900 Certification.
  • Preferred: TOGAF 9/10 Certification.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in information technology, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience working with Intel servers.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in VMware and Citrix environments.
  • Prior experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Project management experience related to user and server migration.
  • Working knowledge and experience with ITIL foundation processes/ITIL Certification.
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion monitoring.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS and IBM server platforms.
  • Extensive experience in securing a Microsoft server environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Server Platforms (2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022).
  • In-depth understanding of core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, IIS, AD group policies, Exchange, File Services, etc.).
  • Extensive experience supporting and administering enterprise applications such as VMware, VDI solutions, Rightfax services, Exchange services, SCCM, and Citrix Presentation Server.
  • Expertise in clustering and highly available network solutions across multiple data centers using global and local load balancers.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Broad knowledge of systems management, scripting, and automation.
  • Familiarity with storage solutions including SAN, NAS, CIFs, NFS, replication, and deduplication.
  • Strong working knowledge of scripting.
  • Understanding of applicable data privacy practices and laws (HIPAA, PCI).
