Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Delivery Route Manager Assistant to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading food and food related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.

  • Collaborate with team members within the department and organization to achieve common goals and objectives.

  • Perform pre/post trip safety inspections according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.

  • Report any safety concerns or necessary repairs.

  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.

  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined delivery schedules.

  • Unload products from trailers, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and verify delivery of items with customers.

  • Collect payment (cash or checks) where required and secure trailers.

Requirements:

  • 6 months commercial driving experience

  • High school diploma/GED or state approved equivalent

  • Valid CDL A

  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)

  • Must be 21 years of age

  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years

  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check

  • Pass road test

  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card

  • Able to lift and utilize equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift
