Job Summary

As an Electronics Systems Fabrication Specialist at Scientific Research, you will play a critical role in the fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems into various ship vessels. Your expertise in electronics installation and maintenance will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the fabrication and integration of C4ISR systems into multiple variants of ship vessels.
  • Collaborate with technical staff members to fabricate, integrate, test, operate, maintain, and repair electronic systems.
  • Conduct tests using common instruments such as multi-meters, time-domain reflectometers, and optical time-domain reflectometers.
  • Install cables into ship-provided cableways, ensuring proper banding and labeling.
  • Provide feedback to production management and QA on identified issues or defects in design or during the fabrication/integration phase.
  • Perform on-site installation of equipment and products in various environments, including naval bases and privately owned shipyards.
  • Work from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal instructions.
  • Conduct cableway inspections and certifications, as well as perform firewatch duties.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED/Associate's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
  • 8+ years of related experience installing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing C4I systems.
  • Shipboard electronics installation experience, including understanding of MIL-STD-1310H, MIL-STD-1678-1D, MIL-STD-2003A, and MIL-STD-2042C standards.
  • Proficiency in using cable fabrication hand tools, including heat guns, hand soldering stations, and various crimp tools.
  • Cable fabrication assembly experience with RF, CAT5/6, Heliax, and multi-pin MIL-STD cannon plugs.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.
  • Valid 10-hour OSHA Maritime Shipyard Employment Course #7615 or NAVSEA-approved equivalent completion card.

Desired Skills
  • C4ISR Navy Shipboard experience.
  • Navy 'A' and 'C' School certifications.
  • Fiber optic termination and testing experience, with certification from KITCO or kSARIA.
