Delaplaine/Maryland Endowed Chair in Business and Project Management

At Hood College, we are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Delaplaine/Maryland Endowed Chair in Business and Project Management position in the George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business (DSB). This is a full-time, one-year visiting position (renewable for an additional year), beginning August 1, 2024.

The ideal candidate will possess an earned doctorate degree in entrepreneurship and/or innovation management, project management, or a related field, with a minimum of five years' college teaching experience. They will also have evidence of leadership within higher education and professional organizations, as well as success in building mutually beneficial partnerships.

The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in management topics such as innovation management, entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, strategy management, and introduction to management. They will also be expected to develop new courses based on assessment of regional needs and areas of expertise.

In addition to teaching, the Delaplaine/Maryland Endowed Chair in Business and Project Management will be responsible for conducting research and professional development to enhance the general body of knowledge and provide publication opportunities. They will also collaborate with masters' and doctoral candidates to support appropriate public dissemination at conferences, professional meetings, publications, and other appropriate venues.

The successful candidate will have a strong ability to work collaboratively with partners across campus in support of Hood College's mission as a student-centered, liberal arts institution. They will also have a proven ability to work independently and as a member of a group in developing and executing plans.

The Delaplaine/Maryland Endowed Chair in Business and Project Management will have the opportunity to contribute not only within the DSB but also across the broader campus curriculum. They will be expected to participate in the DSB committees and support the DSB initiatives by enhancing collaboration with appropriate organizations and community groups.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching at various levels, including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral courses. They will also have a strong commitment to making a profound impact on the intellectual and professional development of our students.
