Quality Assurance Manager

This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality, safety, and compliance across all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to train employees on the latest quality standards. Additionally, they will be responsible for reporting, monitoring, and tracking quality processes, as well as resolving any issues with internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a quality plan to ensure compliance with global quality requirements.
2. Supervise the day-to-day activities of the QC/QA staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
3. Ensure that tests and procedures are properly understood, executed, and evaluated on an ongoing basis.
4. Maintain quality processes and procedures, and establish documented procedures for the quality system.
5. Assess product specifications and compare them with customer requirements.
6. Ensure safety protocols are followed, and work with purchasing staff to set quality metrics and requirements from external suppliers.
7. Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives, and purchasing staff to review quality issues as needed.
8. Prepare for and represent the company during audits, and coordinate and approve all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.
9. Prepare necessary reports to support internal and external customers/suppliers, and identify areas of improvement.
10. Collaborate with internal and external customers on global sustainability reporting, and apply lean manufacturing principles to improve quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
· Associate or B.A. in an applied science or engineering field.
· 3-5 years prior experience in QA/QC for a consumer or OEM product manufacturer preferred.
· 2+ years in a leadership role required.
· ASQ certifications a plus.
· Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and reading and interpreting product blueprints.
