We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Development Operations to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in leading and guiding our development efforts to achieve our fundraising goals.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and implement strategic plans to achieve development goals, including those for the next university-wide campaign.
- Analyze and resolve issues, interpret policies, and supervise a staff of professional and support employees to ensure accountability and stewardship of operational, financial, and human resources.
- Develop and create fundraising materials to assist with overall development programs, in conjunction with the Marketing/Communications department.
- Oversee the team's budget, implementing strong program fund oversight, timely management of funds received, and timely and proper use of gift funds, working collaboratively with the finance office.
- Guide new chair funds through the chair establishment process and apprise Samueli's Office of Academic and Student Affairs of new scholarship funds.
- Manage and supervise the stewardship, events, and administrative team members, working with the Assistant Dean on campaign management and other Development projects.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in development operations, with a strong track record of achieving fundraising goals.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret policies and resolve issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage budgets and oversee financial resources.
