The OpportunityAs a Clinical Support Specialist for Patient Care at One Medical, you'll play a vital role in providing an exceptional experience for our patients. You'll be responsible for venipuncture, dispensary duties, and other clinical support services, ensuring patients receive top-notch care.
You will serve as an ambassador for patients, mastering human connection and drive service excellence. By removing barriers to care, you'll contribute to a truly exceptional patient experience, including support for the office, scheduling, inventory, and facilities management. Your expertise will also encompass front-of-house duties, check-in/check-out processes, insurance verification, and daily office upkeep.
This role requires a strong team player who can tackle various tasks and challenges with innovative problem-solving skills. You'll combine excellent specimen collection technique with tactful interpersonal skills during every interaction with patients. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as well as self-awareness to utilize your strengths and develop areas of opportunity.
Responsibilities- Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties, such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Continuously care for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical teams with clerical duties.
- Apply impeccable C-I-CARE principles in all patient interactions, ensuring a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, follow-up scheduling, knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and outreach assistance as needed.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem-solving, supporting office providers with ad-hoc asks, and maintaining office appearance and organization.
- Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program or completed relevant training by any branch of the armed forces or possess a Medical Assistant certification issued by a certifying organization.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training or externship environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology, such as typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus).
- A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care.
- A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks.
- Phlebotomy experience and/or certification preferred.
- Experience with extended scope care, including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs preferred.
