Assistant Superintendent Job Description

Centurion Selection is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to oversee on-site construction activities for a wood-frame multifamily new construction project in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Superintendent in managing all aspects of on-site construction, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, safety enforcement, and quality control.
  • Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient progress on the project.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor compliance with construction drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Support the project team in resolving any issues that arise during construction, minimizing delays.
  • Maintain daily logs, track progress, and report any deviations to the Superintendent.
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure that work is completed to the highest quality standards and in line with project timelines.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in wood-frame multifamily construction, with a minimum of 5 years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and trades in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively coordinate with the project team, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Proficient in construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, etc.).
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and schedule.
  • Must be local to Phoenix, AZ.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ground-up, large-scale multifamily projects.
  • Knowledge of Phoenix-area building codes and regulations.
