As an academic medical center, it serves as a flagship institution for complex care in the region, with the Baylor College of Medicine - Temple preparing to welcome its inaugural class of medical students. Qualifications:

- Doctorate Degree in Medicine
- Licensed to practice medicine in Texas by the Texas Medical Board
- Board certification in the relevant specialty or demonstration of board eligibility from the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
