Job Overview:
The Medical Intensive Care Specialist role is a vital part of our team, working alongside Hospitalist Physicians, APPs, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physicians, Nursing, and Respiratory Therapy to provide exceptional patient care. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide critical care to patients in the Medical ICU and Progressive Care Unit
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Conduct bedside rounds, interpret lab and imaging studies, and perform procedures such as central lines and arterial lines
- Respond to Rapid Response and CardioPulmonary Response codes for all inpatients

Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master's program
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Connecticut
- Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Board Certification APRN
- Preferably one year of experience in inpatient or ICU medicine, however new graduates may be considered with pertinent previous clinical experience
