Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analyst to join our ESG team in Marlborough, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of formal ESG and sustainability governance policies and practices. Your primary focus will be on supporting mandatory disclosures and reporting to ensure information is accurate, complete, and in compliance with SEC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute formal ESG and sustainability governance policies and practices in support of mandatory disclosures and reporting.
- Assist in the use of the company's online platform for data collection and audit, prepare instructions and guidance materials for data providers, and submit high-quality auditable data.
- Collaborate with financial and ESG reporting teams to develop, document, and execute the ESG disclosure control program to support required external reporting and auditor assurance.
- Conduct comprehensive research on climate data, industry benchmarking, carbon accounting, GHG emission reporting, and reduction methodology.
- Analyze data and trends to produce insightful reports, papers, and presentations that support decision-making.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external auditors to coordinate their roles in the review, oversight, and assurance of certain aspects of mandatory ESG reporting.
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Sustainability, Legal, Real Estate, Operations, and Human Resources to establish proper processes and controls around climate and other ESG-related disclosures.
- Conduct ongoing benchmarking of ESG and sustainability disclosures relative to peers, corporate ESG and sustainability leaders, industry trends, and best practices.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in ESG and/or Sustainability, or in Public Accounting or a comparable industry.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other business discipline (e.g. Sustainability Management, Environmental Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or Data Analytics) required.
- Knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting, including scope 1, 2, and 3, required.
- Familiarity with ESG-related disclosures and industry trends, and willingness to develop expertise, preferred but not required.
- Experience and knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting, ESG reporting frameworks (SASB, TCFD, GRI, etc.), internal controls, and other statutory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
