Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour nights or rotating, weekends as scheduled
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a 30-bed unit with a mix of private and semi-private rooms
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio goal of 1:4, although it may occasionally extend to 1:6
- Collaborate with a charge nurse who takes a full patient assignment
- Work alongside clinical assistants and nurse aides
- Be flexible with weekend and holiday shifts as per unit requirements
- Wear navy blue scrubs with no hoodies
- Collaborate with Telemetry Technicians to manage telemetry monitoring
- Respiratory therapy and IV teams are available 24/7 for support
- Self-scheduling is allowed, subject to unit needs, with four requested days off per month
- Participate in unit orientation sessions and adapt quickly to floating as necessary, including to Telemetry or MedSurg units
- Care for patients with conditions such as chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and manage pre/post catheterization care
- Undergo standard floor-specific orientation before taking independent assignments

Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current RN license in good standing
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Skills to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, and Heparin
- Experience with NIHSS
