Job Overview:
The School Nurse is responsible for the application of the nursing process and the provision of care for students in an educational environment. This role may also involve supervisory responsibilities within contracted services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs.
2. Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and individual health plans (IHP).
3. Administer treatments and medications as prioritized in the IHP.
4. Monitor and document the effectiveness of interventions and treatments.
5. Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with client expectations.
6. Coordinate services between the school, local health agencies, and community resources to address student needs.
7. Communicate effectively with school district personnel regarding student care plans.
8. Notify relevant parties about changes in student conditions and necessary physician orders.
9. Collaborate with educational and health personnel to design care plans that meet student health needs.
10. Maintain student safety at all times and adhere to organizational policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
2. Valid nursing license in the state of practice.

5. Current CPR certification and health clearance as required.
